What really grinds our gears

Here’s a very recent piece of garbage from Westminster City Councils parking department in their usual weak efforts to try and justify introducing a bike parking tax they said this:

The City Council has to address the demand for kerbside space and road resources from the thousands of road users who enter the City every day, including the increasing number of motorcyclists. Although the footprint of a motorcycle is considerably smaller than that of a car, these vehicles still take up road space when parking

Of course that’s bollocks, why, only today we are sent a photograph from Golden Square where the fecking bike bays are crammed full of Westminster’s Councils own parking enforcement scooters.

So even the councils own staff find it too inconvenient to park in the Brewer Street car park about 100 metres up the road. Why do they expect us to want to use the car parks either?

Another selfish example of Westminster City Council Parking Department, busy creating the demand on kerbside space themselves so they can introduce bike parking charges, who are they kidding?

I just posted under the last article about FOI’s about hypocritical Westminster. This goes even further, it shows how calculating they are at designing demand to suit their needs…

Engineered demand to suit their needs. That’s THEIR needs, not the needs of the public!

This may explain why Westminster have still not replied to this FOI request:-

there are talks that the council will not be there to stamp each letter, the council will pass the buck, they are talking with the security in stamping and processing each person, there will be barriers in place, just like the last one back in March. the council are running away like they always do.

There’s a general feeling among M/Cists that when your pride and joy is scratched or hemmed in by a humble scooter[1], it’s ok to move the scooter and leave it in the middle of the road or on a yellow line. So clearly the solution here is to simply lift all the WCC scooters out of the way and leave them parked on yellow lines.

I wish those BMWs with the full Touratech kit or the Harley Sportsters that do the same thing were as easy to deal with as an ET4.
