The car that never pays to park in Westminster

Westminster Councillor Danny Chalkley continues to cite claims that kerb space in Westminster is at a premium and for this reason scooters and motorcycles have to pay for this precious commodity.
Never mind the awkward matter that his so called ‘revenue neutral’ stealth tax is set to trouser a staggering £2 million pounds of profit, even after taking into account the revised ‘reduced’ rate.
Nevertheless, in spite of thousands of objections (the most the council have ever had), Councillor Chalkley still wants to forge ahead with his unpopular and unwelcome tax – even ignoring pleas from Westminster’s own residents.
It would be nice if we could for once applaud a Council for standing behind the principle of democratic accountability. Danny continues unchecked in his complete disdain for public pressure and citizens wishes no matter how damaging the publicity is becoming to himself and his fellow Tory Councillors. Whilst no other Council in the UK has implemented such a charge, Danny continues to wholeheartedly back this environmentally unfriendly tax, and resolutely refuses to back down and see sense.
So we carry on and remind you that Nutsville would not be here if it wasn’t for Chalkley’s bike tax. And, in that struggle Nutsville will continue to ferret out the unwelcome, the unwholesome and all that is dishonest and corrupt at Westminster.
Last week we exposed the regime of bullying CEO’s to constantly ‘bring in the tickets’. But today we can reveal that CEO’s are not only bullied to bring in tickets, but also forced to look the other way when it comes to NSL management vehicles.
Last week we were sent some photographs of a Vauxhall Zafira 16v Club (MPV) (registration LN03 WVF) which is frequently parked in Francis Street, just off Vauxhall Bridge Road SW1 during the day.

The NSL car that never gets a ticket

The NSL car that never gets a ticket but doesn't pay

CEO’s told us “All VBR (Vauxhall Bridge Road) CEO’s know about this car, they cannot issue a PCN even though the identifier badge is filled incorrectly, it’s out of date, but no one bothers, if anyone bash’s a PCN, NSL management will either suspend us or sack us“. Well that sounded like the way NSL Services management talk to their CEO’s to us, but we needed to check this out further.

Surely this could not be right, free parking in Councillor Danny Chalkley’s own ward. We thought it was just Danny Chalkley himself who had a special no questions asked free parking, considering he benefits from a free city wide parking permit.  So we sent a photographer down to Francis Street last Saturday 18th October 2009.

Look what we found!

Identifier badges are supposed to be given to unmarked  fire service vehicles and utility vehicles on emergency repairs.

Nutsville has been told this car is always parked around the NSL Services VBR base, and never pays to park. Now that’s something you can check yourself Mr Chalkley, on your wonderful Verrus supplied pay-by-phone system (if it’s working today).

Nutsville has also been told that “Once a CEO issued ticket and he was told to cancel or spoil the PCN, other wise he will punished.

The car belongs to Vauxhall Bridge Road Base, the car was meant to be used to deploy the CEO’s who cover distant beats and to bring them back to base when they are having lunch, but they don’t do that, instead one supervisor always uses the car to fulfil personal managers stuff , especially a man called Operation Support Manager Mr.Walliur Rahman.

So Mr Chalkley are you going to cover this up or follow the example you set for your residents who have to pay for their parking permits, which you over sale, and phone the police. So Councillor Chalkley how is this firm fair and excellent parking for a 2012 Council?

Just to help you out further Mr Chalkley, here’s the councils fraud hotline number:
If you suspect someone of using a parking permit they are not entitled to or want to report potential permit fraud, please call the City Council’s
FRAUD HOTLINE on 0800 028 9888 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 0800 028 9888 end_of_the_skype_highlighting

All calls are treated in the strictest of confidence. Westminster City Council will prosecute any one found to be committing fraud.

Permit fraud will be prosecuted!

It is a criminal offence to deliberately make a false statement on your application form, or to use a parking permit you are not entitled to. Those who commit permit fraud will be prosecuted and face large fines or imprisonment.

Will Councillor Chalkley be prosecuting his own enforcement company?  Will the taxpayer get their lost parking revenue back,  or will the matter be brushed aside, with the perpetrators transferred to another branch of that fine upstanding company that is NSL Services?

Err maybe my eyesight is going but doesn’t the date on the permit say 31 March 2010?? Still no excuse for blatant mis-use of this permit – but I bet our Danny boy does nothing to correct this situation.
