There’s no kerb space shortage in Westminster, hooray!

The Street Management department at Westminster has a chequered history. Everyone who has heard about Westminster’s famous parking wardens (now CEO’s) and will be able to recall stories of parking tickets issued for such minor infringements as a wheel to far to the left of the bay or a ticket not correctly displayed in an absolute upright manner on a dashboard.

Parking has to be enforced fairly because we all know that kerb space is at a premium. Danny Chalkley told us this, so it must be true!

Nutsville feels obliged to point out that Westminster do not consider themselves under any of the obligations the hard-pressed motorist has to tangle with on a daily basis. Keen readers will recall the Mayors Rolls Royce Park Ward parked in a one way street the wrong way and on a double yellow line.

Barely a week or two later and the same Rolls Royce Park Ward was caught again, but WCC felt it was perfectly acceptable to park on a Red Route during restricted hours. The excuse this time was the Mayor has a number of valuable baubles around her neck and didn’t want to risk being robbed.

Fortunately for Nutsville, Westminster continues, on a daily basis, to manage to make fools of themselves.

Take regard of the picture below, taken on the 15th June 2009 in Sutherland Street, SW1. If this had been an ordinary, anxious motorist the CEO’s would have been down like a swarm of bluebottles for taking up two parking spaces for their snoop wagon.

But, with the relaxed parking by Westminster employees, no such worries.

When the driver was challenged, he said he could stop anywhere if he wanted to and it wasn’t anyone’s business. Fortunately the number plate of the vehicle was recorded and Nutsville looks forward to confirmation that appropriate ‘retraining’ has been provided to the employee.

This isn’t funny any more.

This is beyond belief!

Talk about two standards.

Firstly we have Councillors awarding themselves free parking permits (yes and that includes you Floru – failed EU candidate) and then the employees flagrantly and without any concern double park.

And they have the cheek to charge motorcycles……..

This makes me feel sick! If any ordinary member of the public did this they would receive a PCN instantly. I would be interested to know what reply Westminster gives to Nutsville about this. How can they possibly try to justify it.

I have no respect whatsoever for Westminster City Council. They have lost all credibility, this council is run by a group of dishonnest people and thieves. I know that a lot of Westminster Council employees keep checking this website, so guys do you realise the kind of employer you work for?
