Guess who said this?

To all those Conservative Councillors on the Westminster City Council Scrutiny Committee, who tried to twist things around to pollution, guess who said this?

A Fair Deal For Motorcyclists
Increasing the use of motorcycles has been highlighted by the Government as part
of their nationwide strategy to tackle congestion and emissions.

The benefits of
motorcycle travel over car travel include:
• Reduced congestion
• Easy parking
• Reduced emissions
• Shorter journey times

Given these benefits we would like to encourage a modal shift from cars to
motorcycles, and we see allowing motorcycles to access bus lanes as a first step to
achieving this.

I believe we should embrace any measure that has the potential to relieve
congestion, especially if new evidence shows it to be safe and effective. Therefore, I
will allow motorcycles in bus lanes. I believe that motorcycles will help combat
congestion, and we should encourage greater use of them.

getting to vote for a Tory Stealth Tax to discourage the use of motorcycles?

We’ve deliberately left out empty headed Councillor Susan Burbridge, as she’s so stupid she would vote for anything put in front of her. Anyway we know she’s going to be de-selected, so you Tory’s can do your own dirty work rather than getting us to do it for you.

All I can say is this:-

If Westminster wants to treat us like cars by charging us to park then we’ll act like cars and cause massive congestion, misery, chaos in the City of Westminster. Westminster will become London’s black area.

Now that article has cut through the mush and got to the point. Maybe Tory HQ see Westminster Council as a bunch of renegade pseudo-Tories just out what what they can get.

Obviously, there can be no kick-back from all the companies they use to control parking, that would be illegal. So what are Westmionster Council getting out of ‘selling’ the whole pay by phone parking scheme to every other council?

And why do they ignore the councils that have used Pay by Phone for years (before Westminster) and think they have the right to push their system?

There has got to be something in for the council’s and I personally suspect it’s the INCOME the scheme will generate, as well as a very easy platform to raise prices as and when they see fit.

I don’t suppose any of these Councillors lined up for directorships or consultancies with Verrus?
